RSS Feeds of UA
What are RSS feeds?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS feeds are effectively an automated means to stay up to date on the latest content on a web site. By using a feed reader, you can view updated content from many sites without having to actually visit each site. These feeds also allow for excellent wide spread distribution of the content to search engines and other sources that want to feature or distribute similar quality content.
A simple example
So you have been following Eddie's blog and want to read his latest post when it comes out. Let's see how an RSS feed can help.
Without a RSS feed, you visit the site one morning and find he hasn't yet posted a new entry. You visit again an hour later with the same result, a busy life takes over and you forget to check again for four more days. When you do visit again you see the new blog entry that Eddie had created just minutes after you last checked two days ago.
With an RSS feed, you simply check your feed reader and it automatically shows you when his blog entry is posted. While reading his new post you can see new announcements posted, new calendar events, and even when the latest sermon podcast is available online. All from one quick and easy interface.
How do I get started?
