Ideas for Service

Idea :: "Childcare Exchange" (Karen Jordan)

We plan to serve another Life Group by providing childcare for them. We will make sure at least two of us are baby sitting each night so that we have a chance to serve together and build a relationship with one another.

Idea :: "Be a Friend" (Becky Perez)

Your group could befriend one of our elderly members. Visits, cards, prayers, etc. would be a fantastic boost for many of these lovely people. Ask Becky Perez for a printed list of names, addresses, and other info.

Idea :: "Baked Goodies" (Judy Allee)

Your group could bake cookies, bag them up with little notes of encouragement and scriptures, pass them out to people at nursing homes, homelesss shelters, etc. This is a great activity for kids!

Idea :: "Encouragement Notes" (Jason Jordan)

Your group could get together and write encouragement letters to those who need them.

Idea :: "Care Packages" (Elaine Gainey)

Your group could send notes and care packages to soldiers oversees.

Idea :: "Homeless Breakfast" (Judy Allee)

Your group could help with the Wednesday homeless breakfast. Contact Wilma Boyer for more info.

Idea :: "Handy Helpers" (Michael Sutton)

Your group could take on various small projects (handyman type stuff) for the elderly residents of the Village Christian apartments. Ask Michael Sutton about this.

Idea :: "Helping Special Kids" (James Thomas)

Your group could volunteer at the Roseday School for mentally handicapped and physically disabled kids.

Idea :: "A Friend on the Outside" (Karl Ihfe)

Your group could care for somebody outside the group who is connected with someone IN the group. When prayer requests are made on behalf of friends and co-workers, do more than just pray for them - make the effort to actually help and encourage them!

Your group could help at one of the children's homes around Austin. Contact Hillrey Dufner

Idea :: "Babysitting Co-op" (Judy Allee)

Your group could form or join a baby-sitting co-op to help with childcare for those who need it.

Idea :: "Serve Another Group" (Jason Jordan)

Your group could find ways of serving ANOTHER Life Group, by making them dinner or watching their kids, etc.
