Idea :: "Babysitter Exchange" (Karen Jordan)
Our Life Group has two precious babies--Jonah and
Melody. While they are two of the sweetest,
cutest kids around, they are also a bit distracting.
This being the case, it is no longer an option to hold
them in our lap during our Bible study. We discussed
setting up a rotation where one of the members of our
group would "baby sit" during our Bible study, but we
didn't like the idea of someone missing out on the
Bible study and discussion each week.
Here is our proposal:
Two of our group members would come to the Mann's
group meetings each Sunday night and baby sit their
kiddos while the group meets and enjoys one another's
company and fellowship during their Bible study. This
would give the people in our group a chance to serve
together while Dennis's group is able to have their
Bible study without interuption. We would set up a
rotation within our group so that each of our group
members will take turns serving (it works out to be
about 1 Sunday night per month for each of our group
members).
The Mann's Life Group would do the same for us. Since
we meet on a Tuesday night, no one ever has to miss
their own Life Group.
We really think that this could be a great solution to
the child care issue that EVERYONE can benefit from.
